Episode 1: The Art of Bushido

Welcome to our Show Notes Section for Episode 1:

For those discerning individuals we want to focus on explaining a few things about our podcast.  Our subject matter deals with practical application of the scriptures.  Matt and I believe that it is our responsibility to address a few things about our podcast.

We believe that its is our responsibility as preachers to maintain the restoration plea.  That is to speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where the Bible is silent; calling Bible things by Bible names and doing Bible things in Bible ways.  It is our position that the Bible is the sole authority in all matters of religion.  We cannot in good conscience follow man-made creeds.  Therefore, all individuals who want to be justified must be a member of the church of Christ.

We believe that it is our responsibility to preach the word of God at all times in order to build up and rebuke all matters of sinfulness.  In doing so we have taken the opportunity of podcasting to reach the masses.  Through this medium we have purposefully refrained from simply putting up our sermons.  We want to invite each of you to listen to our discussion of practical application of the scriptures.  We feel that we can address more subjects and keep devout people informed of the way to hold their faith.  Thus we have the Bushido Christian Podcast.

The Bushido Christian Podcast represents our attempt to explain practical matters of exegesis, Biblical interpretation, and faith.  We have chosen the example of martial arts to focus in on a persons need to be dedicated, disciplined and devoted to God.  We are not trying to merge, join, or mesh Zen Philosophy with Christianity.  Rather we have taken a modern example of a warrior to express a way for you and us to wage our spiritual warfare.  This warfare is not a jihad but rather a way to combat false doctrines and teachings that are contrary to God's word. 2 Corinthians 10:1-6 explains that through meekness and gentleness man has been given the ability through the might of God found in his word to cast down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of God; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience.  These three things are the manner in which we wage our spiritual warfare.

We have felt like it is time for the church to grow strong through the development of discipline, dedication, and devotion to combat the false doctrine that exists in the world.  No more can we allow grievous wolves to enter in and destroy the flock of God.  As a result of our own need to glorify God we intend to present to you Bushido Christian, the Art of Spiritual Warfare.
